A Super Bowl To Remember

Well first, congrats to the Chicago Bears and the Indianapolis Colts for making it the Super Bowl XLI. Even though the Chicago Bears had it a bit easier handing a defeat to the New Orleans Saints (this country's feel good story of the year). The Indianapolis Colts had a bit of a mountain to climb in order to make it to the Super Bowl (that mountain could be compared to the Himalayas). Just when you thought Peyton Manning and Coach Dungy were going to their dream of making it to the Super Bowl taken away from them again, by the New England Patriots, no doubt. They somehow battle their way back up and in one of the best games I've seen in a long time (well still not as good as the UF Gators putting a whoopin' on OSU Buckeyes) and beating a boogy-man that has been lingering in the backs of their mind as well as their fans. Now let me set one thing straight, I wasn't cheering for Peyton Manning (my Gator pride prevents me for rooting for player that use to play at the University of Tenn). However, I was cheering for Tony Dungy to finally make it to the Super Bowl. This is the same person who former team made it to the Super Bowl and ultimately won after he was fired the previous year.

Also, one cannot forget that this will be the firs time two Afro-American coaches will attend the Super Bowl. So prepare yourself starting now until the February 4th kickoff, to have every single media outlet hyping this as a great moment in history, equality and race relations. Even though that is true, it is a great moment in Afro-American History. However we cannot forget the fact there are still too few minority coaches in the NFL and especially in the NCAA. Only time will tell how this game effects breaking the racial barrier in college and in pro sports. But for right now, congratulations to Coach Lovie Smith and Coach Tony Dungy. Good Luck!

Something For Your Ears!

Welcome!

Another day, another blog entry. Now today blog entry is something new. I came across by accident. While browsing through Aol.com for some news items to read about, saw the picture that you see to your right. Clicked and it brought me to Gnarls Barkley doing some of the Biggie songs with their own twist to it. I'll put a link to the website that has the tracks below. So take the time, and listen through the track, you will not be disappointed.

...And Your Winner Is?

Sorry for taking a while to write back in this blog entry, but still recovering from Monday night. For those who don't know (or those Ohio State fans that don't want to remember). The University of Florida Gator beat...no...put a cosmic beat down on Ohio State University Buckeye. In Chris Leak's best performance as the UF quarterback and a defense that was relentless and cutthroat. The Gators never let up, never gave up, and never let the talk that had been going on for the last 30 days unflinching them as the destroyed the Buckeye's 41-14. All I have to say is...It's Great to be a Florida Gator.

Finally, the scene downtown was nothing short but pure unadulterated craziness. University Avenue was nothing more but a sea of frenzied fans happy, ecstatic, that the Gators won (winning convincelingly at that), and that as a fan they were able to enjoy that win here in Gainesville, FL.

until next time....I'm going back to sleep to rest up.

as for the picture i want to say i got this off of either foxsports or espn.com
