Well first, congrats to the Chicago Bears and the Indianapolis Colts for making it the Super Bowl XLI. Even though the Chicago Bears had it a bit easier handing a defeat to the New Orleans Saints (this country's feel good story of the year). The Indianapolis Colts had a bit of a mountain to climb in order to make it to the Super Bowl (that mountain could be compared to the Himalayas). Just when you thought Peyton Manning and Coach Dungy were going to their dream of making it to the Super Bowl taken away from them again, by the New England Patriots, no doubt. They somehow battle their way back up and in one of the best games I've seen in a long time (well still not as good as the UF Gators putting a whoopin' on OSU Buckeyes) and beating a boogy-man that has been lingering in the backs of their mind as well as their fans. Now let me set one thing straight, I wasn't cheering for Peyton Manning (my Gator pride prevents me for rooting for player that use to play at the University of Tenn). However, I was cheering for Tony Dungy to finally make it to the Super Bowl. This is the same person who former team made it to the Super Bowl and ultimately won after he was fired the previous year. Also, one cannot forget that this will be the firs time two Afro-American coaches will attend the Super Bowl. So prepare yourself starting now until the February 4th kickoff, to have every single media outlet hyping this as a great moment in history, equality and race relations. Even though that is true, it is a great moment in Afro-American History. However we cannot forget the fact there are still too few minority coaches in the NFL and especially in the NCAA. Only time will tell how this game effects breaking the racial barrier in college and in pro sports. But for right now, congratulations to Coach Lovie Smith and Coach Tony Dungy. Good Luck!
